Zen In The Art Of Writing Summary
Infiniti's latest concept is a pure electric luxury sedan.
The design language of Nissan's luxury division, Infiniti, has often been described as "Zen-like''. It's certainly distinctive and really manages to stand out better than that of Acura. But still, it's one of those things where it's simply either you like it or you don't. In the case of Infiniti's latest concept, called the LE, that has just made its debut at the 2012 New York Auto Show, this styling is taken to the next level. But that's not everything as to what Infiniti wants you to know about it.
What they're really anxious to say is that the LE Concept is entirely electric and it's a clear preview of the upcoming production version. It has Nissan Leaf underpinnings, seating for five, and an interior that's fully equipped with all of the latest gadgetry expected in a luxury car. This all-electric sedan is expected to arrive in production form in about two years. For now, Infiniti hasn't revealed much in the way of mechanical details, but it would make complete sense that underneath lies the mechanicals of the Nissan Leaf. That EV has 107hp and 208lb-ft of torque along with a 100-mile range.
Overall we like the exterior design, especially the sweeping beltline crease, mad chrome grille, and an almost coupe-like roofline. Could this also be a preview of the next generation G sedan as well? We're guessing yes, but the jury is still out on whether the styling will appeal to the public at large.
